Position Summary

In this role, you’ll work closely with board-certified pathologists, assisting in the gross examination of surgical specimens and autopsy support. Ideal for adaptable and efficient professionals, this contract offers valuable experience in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform gross dissection and description of a variety of surgical specimens

• Assist with autopsy procedures including evisceration and organ dissection

• Dictate findings and photograph specimens as needed

• Maintain accurate records in compliance with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA standards

• Collaborate with pathology support staff to ensure smooth lab operations

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program

• PA(ASCP) certification or certification-eligible

• Strong understanding of anatomical structures and pathology terminology

• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills

• Able to adapt quickly to new workflows and team environments
